Our Story

La Posada Del Mar was a family dream brought together by a combination of inspired people and perfect timing. Toni Carter and her daughters had been visiting Costa Rica for years and even though they had spent time exploring other parts of Costa Rica, something continued to draw them back to the Dominical area. Dominical is a unique place in Costa Rica, where the mountains actually meet the sea, which quite literally brings people the best of both worlds. It has a very relaxed surf vibe and a robust combination of travelers and locals. There is an incredible sense of community which made it easy to call Dominical home.

La Posada was completely remodeled during 2022 which included  an overhaul of each room, a new reception area that was added to the front of the hotel, and the courtyard was redone adding a beautiful communal kitchen and eating area.

La Posada is one of the premier hotels in the area, offering a touch of elegance and comfort that you won’t find anywhere else in Dominical.
